Call Money- Deposits that are interest bearing that will be repayable on demand. This happens most likely within 24 hours.
Call Option- The option to buy an underlying instrument at a price that is agreed upon.
Callable Bond- When a bond is returned to the investor's principal. All interest payments will cease before the bond matures.
CAP- Stands for Common Agricultural Policy. In the EU (European Union), this ensures that food supplies will be set at reasonable prices in order to guarantee a farmer's income.
Capital Improvement- A structure that adds value to a property.
Caravan- A group of real estate agents make an outing to go and look at homes that have recently been placed on the market.
Cash Cow- A steady flow of income from a product or a business.
Cash Crop- A crop that is grown in order to sell on the market.
CEO- Chief executive officer. This title is often held by someone with a higher ranking, such as the president of a company.
Cereals- Commodity crops that are traded. These are common, such as wheat, oat, barley, corn, and rice as well as others.
Certificate of Deposit Index- Interest rates that are shown on a table that are of certificate of deposits (CD). In adjustable rate interest mortgages, this is used to determine the rate of interest paid.
Certificate of Eligibility- A statements that states that the bearer of the loan is eligible.
Certificate of Occupancy- When a local government grants permission for a person to live in a building that has just been constructed or renovated.
Cloud On Title- On a title, this is a claim that would make transfer of ownership hard to transfer and may even impair it.
Coinsurance- After the deductible is met, the insurer and the person insured share the costs that have been incurred.
Collateralized Debt Obligation- Also referred to as CDOs. This is a form of asset backed security. They are divided into different tranches that represent the different levels of risk.
Commodity- Raw materials, such as grains, metals, oils, coffee, teas, that are used in the production of food.
Common Stock- Ownership in which the company has a limited liability.
Consumer Price Index- A measurement of the change of goods and services. This includes medical care, housing, foods, clothing, education, and more.
Credit Line- A bank lends money out after an agreement is made on the limits an account may have.
Credit Risk- A person that will not pay back the scheduled payments.
Current Assets- Assets in a company that are usually sold within a year.
